LinkedIn promotion announcement post template

A promotion post lands when it says more than the title. Give the new role in one line, say what earned it, and credit the people who helped. Fill in the blanks below and copy the result, or copy one of the examples. It is free and needs no sign-in. To make it sound like you, innernote can write it in your voice from the same details.

Your details

Your post

I have been promoted to your new title at company.

What got you here, in one line.

Thank you, someone who helped you get here.

Same team, bigger problems. More soon on what I am working on.

Free to copy. Nothing you type here is uploaded.

Want it to sound like you?

That is the template everyone gets. innernote can write the same post in your own voice, from the details you just typed. Free for 3 days, no card.

Three ways to say it. Copy one and change the details.

Short

Some news: I am now Engineering Manager at Northwind.

Same team, more responsibility. I am glad to keep working with these people.

Giving the credit

I have been promoted to Engineering Manager at Northwind.

This is the team's work as much as mine. Daniel taught me how to run a review without making it about me, and Sara covered for me more times than I can count.

Thank you both.

Looking ahead

Starting this month I lead the platform team at Northwind.

The first thing I want to fix is how long it takes a new engineer to ship. It took me three weeks. It should take three days.

If you have solved this, I would like to hear how.

What do you write in a promotion post on LinkedIn?

Say the new title in the first line, then say what earned it in one honest sentence. A promotion post that only lists the title reads as a press release. Credit one or two people by name for something specific. If you add anything else, say what you will do with the new role, because that is what colleagues and future hires want to know.
