LinkedIn new job announcement post template

A new job post works when it says where you are going, why this job, and who helped you get there, in a few short lines. Fill in the blanks below and copy the result, or copy one of the examples. It is free and needs no sign-in. To make it sound like you instead of a template, innernote can write it in your voice from the same details.

Your details

Your post

I am joining company as your new role.

Why this job, in one line.

Thank you, someone who helped you get here.

More soon on what I am working on. If you work in this space, I would like to hear from you.

Free to copy. Nothing you type here is uploaded.

Want it to sound like you?

That is the template everyone gets. innernote can write the same post in your own voice, from the details you just typed. Free for 3 days, no card.

New job post examples

Three ways to say it. Copy one and change the details.

Short

Some news: I have joined Northwind as Head of Product.

I was a customer for two years before this, so I know which problems I want to fix first.

More soon.

With a thank you

I am starting a new role as Head of Product at Northwind.

Thank you, Priya, for telling me to apply when I was sure I was not ready. And thank you to everyone on my old team for five good years.

If you work in analytics, I would like to hear what you are stuck on.

After the first week

First week at Northwind, done.

Three things I did not expect: how much of the roadmap comes from support tickets, how short the meetings are, and that the founder still answers customer email.

I am here to lead product. Mostly I spent this week listening.

What do you write in a new job post on LinkedIn?

Lead with the news in one line: the company and the role. Then give one honest reason you took this job, because that is the part people respond to. Thank one person by name for something specific, not a list of everyone. End by saying what you will be working on, or who you would like to hear from. Keep it short, and leave out anything that sounds like a press release.
