AuthoredUp logoAuthoredUp

AuthoredUp is an editor and analytics layer inside LinkedIn: formatting, a preview of the see-more fold, and the deepest post analytics in this category, from $19.95 a month. innernote is for the step before that, turning a thought, a voice note or an article into a draft in your voice. Different jobs, and which you need depends on whether writing is your bottleneck.

What AuthoredUp is

AuthoredUp is a Chrome extension and web platform that sits inside LinkedIn. It adds formatting LinkedIn does not have natively, a multi-device preview including the see-more fold, a readability score, hook and ending libraries, and by some distance the most thorough analytics in this category: post saves, sends, reach, a best-time heatmap built from your own history, CSV export and an API. Individual is $19.95 a month, Business $14.95 per profile with a three-profile minimum. Their AI assistant, Coauthor, learns your voice from your posts and is described on their pricing page as being in closed beta.

Why people move to innernote

They are better at measuring. We are better at writing

Say it plainly, because a feature grid would be dishonest here. AuthoredUp's analytics are the best in this category and we are not competing with them: years of history, saves and sends and reach, a posting heatmap built from your own data, an API and a CSV export. If what you want is to understand posts you have already published, buy AuthoredUp. What they do not do is get the post written. Their own framing of Coauthor is "You write. It suggests." Ours is the opposite way round.

Formatting was never the reason you did not post

Bold text, bullets and a preview of the fold are genuinely useful, and they solve the last five minutes of a post. The four days before that, when you knew you should post and had nothing you wanted to say, are untouched. innernote starts there: your pillars, the things you saved, a voice note on a walk, an article worth arguing with.

Writing a LinkedIn post in innernote, with the draft already in the author's own voice

The draft arrives already in your voice

Coauthor exists and it says it learns from your posts, so we will not claim otherwise. The difference is where it sits. Theirs is an assistant that suggests while you write, gated behind credits and a beta. Ours is the default path: an interview plus your published posts becomes a voice profile you can open, read and edit, and every draft comes out of it.

One plan, and it is not per profile

$29 a month, or $19 billed annually, with everything on it. AuthoredUp is $19.95 for one profile and their team pricing is charged per connected LinkedIn profile. If you are one person that is a fine deal and cheaper than us. If you are comparing what each price gets written for you, the numbers move.

Pricing

innernote

$29 a month, or $19 billed annually. One plan, every feature, one person.

AuthoredUp

Individual $19.95 a month, or $16.63 billed annually. Business $14.95 per profile per month, minimum three profiles. A 14-day free trial with no card.

They are cheaper for one person. The question is what each price is buying: an editor and analytics, or the draft itself.

Do you need AuthoredUp or innernote?

Answer one question honestly: when you sit down to post, what stops you? If the answer is that the draft is written and you want it to look right and to know how it did, AuthoredUp is the better buy and it is cheaper. If the answer is that you open the box, look at it, and close it again, formatting tools do not touch that problem and you will keep not posting with a very good editor installed. The two are not really rivals, and plenty of people run both.

Can you use both together?

Yes, and it is a reasonable setup. Write in innernote, where the draft starts from your own voice, then publish and let AuthoredUp measure what happened. You are paying twice, which only makes sense if analytics genuinely change what you write next. For most people posting five times a week, one tool that gets the post out beats two that split the job.
