How do you do a collab post on LinkedIn?

Start a post, choose Add collaborators, pick up to five members or Company Pages, and publish as usual. Each person you invite gets a notification and can accept. Once they accept, they are listed on the post with you. LinkedIn announced the feature for members and Pages worldwide on 23 July 2026.

Which kinds of posts can be collab posts?

You can collaborate on almost any format, LinkedIn says: text, images, video, posts with a link, documents, polls, events and celebration posts. If you cannot see Add collaborators yet, update the app or try on a computer, since features often reach accounts in stages.

Is a collab post the same as a collaborative article?

No. Collaborative posts are new, and different from collaborative articles, the older feature where members add their views to articles LinkedIn starts. A collab post is your own post, with named co-authors.

What does a collaborative post do for reach?

It puts one post in front of more than one audience. LinkedIn said all collaborators are listed at the top of the post, and creator economy writer Lindsey Gamble reports that an accepted post is shared with each collaborator's audience. LinkedIn has not published reach numbers for collaborative posts yet.

What LinkedIn said it built them for

Four moments that belong to a team

  • Product launches

The founders, the team and the company Page.

  • Big business news

    Executives breaking it together.

  • Brand partnerships

A creator and the brand they work with.

  • Company milestones

    Teammates celebrating the same result.

Where do collab posts show in your analytics?

Collaborative posts show up in your analytics too. LinkedIn's help page says the post table in creator analytics includes them when you are the original poster or an accepted collaborator, labelled Collaboration. Read your own numbers after the first two or three before you make them a habit.

When should you use a collaborative post?

When the post belongs to more than one person. A launch with your cofounder and company Page, a project you finished with a client who agrees to be named, a talk you gave with a co-speaker. Do not add people to borrow their audience. They have to accept, and a post they did not help make reads that way.

Good fits

  • A launch with your cofounder and Page
  • A project you finished with a client
  • A talk or event you ran together

Poor fits

  • A big name you hope will boost it
  • People who did not help
  • Every post, by default

Should a founder add the company Page as a collaborator?

For a founder, the strongest use is the company Page. Most new companies have a small Page and a founder with a larger network. A collab post with the Page names both, so readers who find the post through you can find the company too. When a person only helped a little, a mention with @ is enough, as how to tag someone on LinkedIn explains.

How do you write a collab post everyone is happy to sign?

Write it in one voice, the voice of whoever posts it, and show it to the others before you publish. Name what each person did, in a line each. innernote writes the post in your own voice from your notes, so the people you invite are agreeing to a clear post.

innernote is the #1 tool for writing LinkedIn posts in your own voice, including the ones you share with others.

It learns how you write from your own posts and a short interview, so a joint post still sounds like the person who posts it. innernote also remembers what you have published, cleans each draft so it does not read as AI, and Plan puts the post on your posting days, with the link in the first comment.
