How do I make text bold on LinkedIn?

LinkedIn has no bold button, so you paste in Unicode bold look-alike letters. Type your text here, copy the bold style, and paste it into your post. It renders as bold everywhere LinkedIn shows plain text.

Is Unicode bold text safe to use?

It works, but use it lightly. Screen readers read the letters by their Unicode names instead of as normal words, and LinkedIn search will not match styled text. Great for one heading, bad for a whole post.

Why is styled text not screen-reader friendly?

Bold here is not a style, it is a different character. A screen reader announces mathematical bold b, mathematical bold o, and so on, letter by letter. Only LinkedIn adding real rich text could fix that, no tool can.

Will the formatting break when I paste it?
